The Well Spring Myth

Water is necessary for life and has restorative properties. It flows uncontrolled from springs and mountain streams into the desert causing erosion and damage as it moves along. The arid desert can be brought back to life by controlling and directing the "life giving water".

By damming up the flow into the valley we create a reservoir. We can draw the water from the reservoir and direct it to where it is needed the most.

In this way we can bring wellness to the residents and outpatients of our lodge.

Village Campaign Record Story

The goal of our first fund raising campaign is $28 million for the purchase and renovation of the Fibromyalgia Well Spring Foundation's village. To track the progress of the fund raising campaign we have created a graphic story.

Water flows from the springs and mountains and so we will track the progress of the campaign by damming the stream of water flowing from a mountain. The higher the dam, the greater the water in the reservoir and the closer we will be to our goal.

The arid desert represents the lack of support for sufferers of Fibromyalgia.

The water in the creek represents the money flowing into the Foundation.

The bricks that build up the dam represent the help from our supporters.  Each brick in the dam represents one hundred dollars.  Smaller donations will be batched together to make a common brick. Coloured bricks will represent a donation of $100 dollars or more by one donor. These coloured bricks will be inscribed with the name of the donor.

When we reach our goal it will be time to allow the reservoir to empty into the lodge. To do this we will "blow up" our dam.

To celebrate the virtual blowing up of the dam we will make a random selection from the names on the bricks. That person will be invited as a guest of honor at the "blow up" party. At the party we will ask them to PUSH the button to set off the animation showing the dam blowing up, falling down and the water (funds) flowing into the lodge.

Keep coming back to this page, the animation will continually be growing and be added to as more and more bricks get laid down to create the dam. Once the water starts being held back, start looking for little things appearing, such as plants, fish, frogs, and birds.
